Spring Style and Shopping Tactics!

I love this time of year. Sunny days and cool nights, the perfect opportunity to fine tune our ability to layer. It is also the time to view up and coming collections many of which start coming into stores in August with regular drops until mid December.

It is this time of year where I juggle television, internet and magazines every night, new seasons of Project Runway and Australias Next Top Model, Stylista and the always fabulous fashion TV. Weekly Grazia (read in the car while waiting around in peak hour traffic), Shop and Vogue to guide me into my new season purchases (and I think this year there will be many).

There will be colour, pretty, military, neutral and so it continues with endless options. The love affair with asymmetry continues, be it one shouldered dresses or tops and t-shirts with uneven hems. Shoulders are big and embellished with feathers or sequins or military adornment. Harem pants in silky fabric or jersey in classic black as well as colour options, this is a time for fun.

Spend wisely and build on pieces bought over recent seasons, update with pin on feather epaulettes and fabulous military inspired broaches (Tribune on Arthur Street), sequined bows for hair, bags or dresses in pastel metallics of rose god and silver (Forever New in Myer Centre) or good basics, jersey and silks (Country Road, Miss Mouse at Wollongabba and Sussan).

Happy Fashion for now,
Sara xx
